Considering Adoption?  Touched by Adoption? We invite you to our Adoption Support Group.  This group is open to anyone interested in learning more about the process of adopting children, in the process of adopting a child, or already a parent through adoption. Come meet and talk to caring, supportive families that share their experience with the adoption process and parenting. Forty Hours Devotion: All are invited to visit Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament at the beautiful and historic Ss. Nerus and Achilleus Chapel of St. Mary Center and Villa during the annual Forty  Hours Devotions on March 31, April 1, and April 2. The chapel will be open for visits on Sunday from 12 noon until 6:30pm and Monday/Tuesday from 9am to 3pm. Holy Mass will be celebrated each day at 11am with Benediction on Sunday at 6:30pm and Monday/Tuesday at 2:45pm. Enter through the chapel main entrance.  We hope to see you there!


Venerable Michael McGivney, Pastor of Souls: April 4 from 7pm to 8:30pm. In his thirteen years as a parish priest, Father McGivney’s compassion, especially for immigrants, won the love of those he served as pastor.  His Christian piety, inspiration, leadership, and administrative drive brought him the loyalty and affection of thousands who knew him as the founder of the Knights of Columbus.  Father Michael McGivney was declared venerable in 2008 and may well become America’s first canonized parish priest.  Join us for this inspirational talk offered by the Postulator of his Cause for Sainthood.  Refreshments will be served in the narthex following this event.  For more information, contact Angela.McClellan@stmariagoretti.net or 215.721.0199 (ext. 202). Churches and Cheese Steaks Tour, Sponsored by the St. Philip Neri Catholic Family Life Center in East Greenville, PA. Saturday, May 4. Our pilgrimage consists of tours of St John the Evangelist Church, the Cathedral Basilica of Sts. Peter & Paul, and the National Shrine of St Rita of Cascia in Philadelphia. Spiritual Multiplication Workshop: Friday, April 5, 9am-12pm. Come learn what it takes to form disciples who are equipped to form other disciples, igniting a chain reaction of disciple-making in your parish. This workshop, presented by the experienced evangelizers from Catholic Christian Outreach, is for all parishes and will cover topics such as: how to foster parish growth by through spiritual multiplication; shifting from investing in programs to investing in people, the art of intentional accompaniment, the five spiritual thresholds and how to engage people who are living in a post-Christian culture. Spring Festival,  Saturday, April 6: hosted by Martin Saints Classical High School will be hosting a Spring Festival featuring a craft fair, flea market and games for children from 9am to 4pm. Come and have a wonderful day with your family! The school is located on the second floor of the church building: Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, 120 Allison Road, Oreland.  You are also welcomed to join us for Mass at 4:30pm in church.


Theology Lecture- “When Peter and Paul Disagree: Living in Faithfulness and Charity Amid Public Controversy” Monday, April 8 at 7pm, St. Borromeo Seminary.  The guest speaker is Rev. Msgr. Michael Magee, Chair of Systematic Theology.  This lecture will seek to identify the guideposts and caveats for understanding and responding to present-day controversies that may be found to emerge from Sacred Scripture, Tradition, and ecclesial experience. Retrouvaille—A Lifeline for Marriages: Tens of thousands of couples have healed their Marriages through Retrouvaille (Retro-VIE). If you know of anyone who could benefit from this program please pass it on! Couples learn to build communication skills and rediscover intimacy. Retrouvaille provides help for marriage problems, difficulties or crises. Wedding Anniversary Mass: Saturday, May 4th, 2019 5:15 pm. The annual Wedding Anniversary Mass is celebrated to pray for and with married couples in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia who are married 1-5 years, and couples who have been married 25 years or more or who have been married 50 years or more. The Rights of the Laity in Church Law: Church law is so much more than a list of “do-nots.” It is a positive affirmation of the rights of the laity. An emphasis on these rights was an innovation when Saint Pope John Paul II promulgated the new Code of Canon (Church) Law in 1983.  Our guest presenter, Mr. Adam Dickerson, J.C.L., M.A., will specifically explore what these rights (and responsibilities) are and how they serve the mission of the Church.  A question and answer period will follow this presentation.  Please register for this event at angela.mcclellan@stmariagoretti.net or 215-721-0199 (ext. 202).  There is no cost to attend this presentation. Be Not Afraid! Family Vocation Day: Please join us for “Be Not Afraid! Family Vocation Day” on June 15 as we welcome keynote speaker Leah Darrow, Bishop Timothy Senior, Pauline Fathers & Brothers, Archdiocese of Philadelphia and members of several religious communities here at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa to share with you their way of life. All are welcome to attend: children, teens, adults–indeed, everyone who supports and prays for religious vocations. May we heed the call of our beloved St. John Paul II as he encourages us to “Be Not Afraid!” which is the theme of this day of prayerful reflection.


Divine Mercy and North American Martyrs Shrines Overnight Bus Pilgrimage: August 18. First Thursday Breakfast Club: The Breakfast Club is held on designated First Thursdays of the year at Saint Maria Goretti Parish and provides a way for people to gather together in friendship following their time spent together in worship and prayer.  Coffee, tea, juice, and nutritious breakfast refreshments are served along with lots of laughter and conversation.  There is no cost to participate in the and no registration is required.  Non-parishioners are always welcome.  Saint Maria Goretti Church Narthex, following the 8:30am Mass. A Perfect Gift of Love: Worldwide Marriage Encounter Weekend: April 12-14. Designed to help married couples communicate more intimately with one another in order to deepen and enrich their relationship, this weekend is free from everyday routines, distractions, and tensions.  An atmosphere is created where the couple is able to concentrate exclusively on each other in a private, confidential environment. 

A series of presentations that touch on many aspects of marriage are given by three couples and a Catholic priest. After each presentation, the couple has time in the privacy of their own room for personal sharing using communication techniques taught on the weekend.  There are no “group discussions”.
