Food Cupboard
Our next Food Cupboard collection is the weekend of September 4 & 5. The Cupboard is in need of liquid laundry and dish detergents, toilet and facial tissues, bar soap, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant (ladies or men’s) canned chicken, canned fruit, and powdered drinks and fruit juices.
Labor Day
On Labor Day, Monday, September 6, we will celebrate one Mass at 9 am in the Church.
RCIA
Do you feel some inner stirrings and curiosity about the Catholic Faith? Join others in a journey of faith that seeks to know God’s call to individuals leading to a life lived in communion with the Faith family we call the Catholic Church. The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults), is a process that offers you tools for discernment, a time to discover more about your deeper desires and your relationship with God. Sessions start on September 8 and take place every Wednesday from 7:30 pm until 9 pm in the Cahill room of the Parish Center. Patriot’s Day
On Saturday, September 11, in addition to the 8 am Mass, we will celebrate Mass at 12:05 pm in the Church, to commemorate Patriot’s Day.
Rosary Service
All are welcome to join members of the Altar & Rosary Society for a Rosary Service at Elm Terrace on Monday, September 13 at 2:30 pm.
Seniors Club News
Our Seniors Club will reconvene on September 14, 2010, at 1 pm in the Parish Center, for the first business meeting of the year. The September social meeting is Thursday, September 23, a Pot Luck luncheon in the Parish Center lobby meeting room. The October business meeting is October 12; the October social meeting, a Halloween Masquerade Pizza Party, is Thursday, October 28.
G.I.F.T. (Growing In Faith Together)
The first G.I.F.T. program of the fall takes place on September 14 at 7:30 pm in the Parish Center lobby meeting room. Please join us for our monthly gatherings, which will cover topics such as Spirituality of Marriage, Appreciating the New Catechism of the Catholic Church, Bible Study, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Lay Ministry in the Catholic Church. 2011 Mass Book Opening
The 2011 Mass Book for Announced Intentions at daily Masses and the 8:30 am, 10 am and 11:30 am Sunday Masses to be offered at St. Stanislaus will open on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in the lobby meeting room after the 8 am Mass. PLEASE NOTE THIS PROCEDURE: There will be a basket with numbers at the receptionist desk for those attending the 6:30 and 8 am Masses who wish to take a number before attending Mass. When your number is called you must be present. We cannot take anyone after their number has been called and we have moved on to the next numbers. Any questions please contact Pam Mohl at the Parish Center prior to September 15.
Music Notes
The Adult Choir will resume rehearsals on September 16 at 7:30 pm in the choir loft of the Church. All voices are needed! To join us come to the loft on the 16th or leave your name and telephone number at the Parish Center, to the attention of Bill Wilson. He will answer all questions you may have.
Half Day Retreat Presented by Deacon Ray Wellbank
All Parishioners Welcome!
All are invited to spend Saturday morning, September 25, with St. Peter as our guide. By taking Scripture passages that relate to incidents of his life, we will be able to draw valuable lessons on what it means to follow Our Lord. It is my hope that in reflecting with me upon these incidents from Peter’s life, that we will grow closer to him, and as a result, closer to Jesus. Please plan to attend! The retreat takes place from 8:45 am until noon, at the Assumption Convent, up the street from St. Stanislaus Church at 506 Crestview Avenue.
Attention Seniors: Help for Fall Projects Offered
St. Stanislaus Parish will hold “Make A Difference Day” on Saturday, October 23rd, from 9:30 am to Noon. The St. Stan’s Parish Community, along with grade school and PREP families, will be taking part by helping the senior members of our parish get ready for winter by raking leaves, trimming bushes and other outside needs. If you have need of any of these services or know of any one who could use our services please contact Pam Mohl at the Parish Center at 215.855.3133.
Parish Center Summer Hours
Until September 13, the Parish Center will be open from 9 am until 8 pm Mondays through Thursdays and until 4:30 pm on Fridays. On Saturdays, the Parish Center will be open from 9 am until noon and on Sundays from 8:30 am until 1 pm. Please make a note of these changes.

Calling All Parish Men
The King’s Men invites you to join our weekly accountability and formation group! Meetings begin at 7 pm with snacks and fellowship, followed by prayer and ongoing book study. All men ages 18 and over are welcome to attend. We guarantee that these meetings will change the way you look at the Christian vocation of husbands and wives and what it truly means to “become one flesh”.
