Mass of Remembrance

Monday, November 6, 2012 at 7:30 pm, there will be the annual liturgy called “We Remember” for all Saint Stanislaus parishioners who passed away between October 1, 2011 and September 30, 2012 and whose funeral service was held here. The families of these deceased parishioners will receive an invitation to participate in this liturgy. If you have lost a loved one and would like to attend this special Mass of Remembrance we invite you to join us. There will be fellowship following the Mass to give families the opportunity to meet others who have lost loved ones this past year. Everyone is invited to attend this special Mass. Prayer Service to Honor All Veterans
Attention Veterans, Parents, Family and Friends,
Please join the students of Mater Dei Catholic School at 10 am in the school gym on November 12 to honor and pray for all veterans. We ask all veterans attending to wear any item of  military clothing, hats or medals you may have.  We cordially invite all our veterans and guests to lunch in the school gym following the service.  Please contact the school at 215.368.0995 if you would like to attend.

Bereavement Workshop

The St. Stanislaus/MMR Bereavement Ministries will be offering a half-day workshop entitled “Coping With Grief During the Holidays” on Saturday, November 17, at St. Stanislaus Parish. This workshop will offer practical advice for dealing with the upcoming holiday season for those who have lost a loved one. Saturday morning Mass is at 8 am (optional); the workshop will follow at 9 am in the Parish Center, and will conclude at 11:30 am. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided. Apostolate to the Deaf, De Sales Society
There is Mass in sign language on the fourth Sunday of the month at 11:00 a.m. in the Parish Center Chapel, and an interpreter every Sunday at the 8:30 a.m. Mass at Saint Stanislaus. Our Sunday Mass is interpreted thanks to our parish volunteers. The DeSales Society conducts a Bible Study group in sign language on the third Friday of the month at 7 p.m. in the Parish Center from September through June. All interested deaf and hearing people who strive to further their faith are welcome.

Bereavement Ministry
The Bereavement Ministry occasionally offers an 8-week support group for anyone who is grieving the death of a loved one. The program offers information about the grief process and gives an opportunity to share thoughts and feelings in an understanding setting. Food Cupboard
Food donations are collected at Sunday Mass and distributed once a month. For more information, or assistance, or if you can help, please call Sr. Barbara McGahan at the Parish Center or the Social Ministry Office at 215.368.1670.

Gardeners
The Garden Group meets every Wednesday morning, weather permitting, at 8:45 am from Easter through Halloween to tend the grounds around the Church. (Flowers only; no lawn care.) The Garden Group has won several awards from both the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and area gardening associations. Our goal is to make the Church grounds beautiful and to attract people in our community to St. Stanislaus Church.

Ready Meals
This group meets at 7 pm in the Parish Center kitchen on the first and third Tuesday of each month, all year.
This committee prepares and packages meals for those who are homebound, recently hospitalized or just need a hot, hearty meal. You contribute your portion by cooking an entree or side dish of your choice, or purchasing a food item. The volunteer commitment is 1 to 2 hours per month.

Respect Life Committee
Mission Statement
To proclaim the Pr0-Life message of the Catholic Church, giving witness to the Gospel of Life in word and deed. In the words of Pope John Paul II, “Today…the Church must, with clarity and patience, strongly uphold the Right to Life of everyone, especially of those not yet born, who therefore need special protection.” This committee promotes programs on all life issues, abortion, euthanasia, death penalty and AIDS. Its members promote the annual Respect Life Sunday and the March for Life in Washington, D.C. The committee meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 8 pm in the Parish Center.

Stewardship Committee
This group meets the first Monday of every other month at 7:45 pm in the Parish Center.
The Stewardship Committee is committed to helping the Faith community of St. Stanislaus Parish share their gifts of time, talent and treasure by providing opportunities to become disciples of Jesus Christ.

Transportation to Church
St. Stanislaus offers van transportation for the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass each week. Senior citizens with no other means of getting to Mass, and who want to attend on a regular basis, are added to the van list on a first-come basis. The parishioner’s residence must be easily accessible to the van route. Call Parish Social Ministry, 215.368.1670 for information.
